On February 15, 2009 at No Way Out pay per view, Chris Jericho participated in Raw elimination chamber match but eliminated by Rey Mysterio.

On April 13, 2009 in Raw edition, WWE drafted Chris Jericho to Smackdown brand. Chris Jericho faced Tommy Dreamer and defeated Tommy Dreamer on same night.

On April 20, 2009 in Raw edition, Chris Jericho said, he is drafted to Smackdown brand and insulted wrestling fans but Ricky Steamboat appeared in this wrestling event. Chris Jericho received appreciation from Ricky Steamboat but Chris Jericho challenged Ricky Steamboat a match at Backlash 2009. Later, John Cena interrupted their show but Chris Jericho also received another challenge from WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena. Chris Jericho finally faced WWE World heavyweight champion John Cena and mesmerized WWE universe with his performance but this match was stopped due to Edge’s interference.

On April 26, 2009 at Backlash 2009, Chris Jericho faced legendary Ricky Steamboat and defeated Ricky Steamboat.

On May 15, 2009 at Smackdown, Y2J Chris Jericho proudly stated, Smackdown is his show but Edge argued with Chris Jericho by seriously considering his statement. However, Chris Jericho faced WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge as per Theodore Long’s order but disqualified. After this match, Chris Jericho attacked by WWE Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio.

On May 17, 2009 at Judgment Day, Y2J Chris Jericho faced WWE Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio for WWE Intercontinental Championship but lost this wrestling match due to Rey Mysterio’s perfect game plan.

WWE Unified tag team champions

On August 31, 2009 in Raw edition, Chris Jericho faced Montel Vontavious Porter by seriously consider his cheap trick in last week match and defeated MVP. However, WWE Raw Guest Host Bob Barker allotted a wrestling match for Chris Jericho at Raw edition on September 7, 2009 and introduced MVP as his opponent but Chris Jericho lost this match to MVP. On September 13, 2009 at WWE Breaking Point, Chris Jericho and his tag team partner Big Show faced Mark Henry and Montel Vontavious Porter by putting their tag titles on the line. Chris Jericho was not happy in this match due to frustration but defeated Mark henry with Big Show’s indirect help to retain their WWE Unified tag team championship.

On September 18, 2009 in Smackdown edition, Chris Jericho mocked Batista and challenged by the animal Batista. Chris Jericho received a spinebuster from Batista. Chris Jericho talked to Big Show about Batista’s destruction. Later, Chris Jericho faced Batista but lost to animal.

On October 9, 2009 at Smackdown, Unified tag team champion Chris Jericho faced Rey Mysterio but lost to Rey Mysterio.

On October 12, 2009 at Raw edition, Chris Jericho’s tag team partner The Big Show did not wish to work under Smackdown team leader Chris Jericho. However, Chris Jericho challenged by his tag team partner The Big Show in Bragging Rights qualifying match but defeated by The Big Show.

He and his tag team partner, john cena challenged in a triple threat match on November 2, 2009 Raw and won this match. However, Chris Jericho and big show seriously injured John Cena and he gave codebreaker to triple h after this match.
