Zema Ion Vs Jesse Sorensen for #1 contender of TNA X Division Championship title at Against All Odds 2012
On January 8, 2012 at TNA Genesis pay per view, Jesse Sorensen and Zema Ion participated in a four way elimination style X Division Championship match but unable to defeat TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries. However, TNA Wrestling gave a chance to both young pro wrestlers by arranging a #1 contender’s match to determine the new #1 contender for TNA X Division Championship title at TNA Against All Odds 2012.
Zema Ion pushed Jesse Sorensen with a headbutt, planned to perform back elbow to oncoming superstar but Jesse Sorensen surprised him by converting it into belly to belly back body drop. After that Jesse Sorensen suplex him to pin but Ion refused it. After that The Jett eliminated him to outside of the ring with a clothesline. Zema speared a spray to hair frustratingly, controlled Jesse with a shoulder block, got injured by performing springboard senton but well protected this match by rejecting all pins of his opponent. Ion kicked at midsection but Jesse Sorensen astounded him with a headscissors takedown.
Zema Ion wasted some time at outside but took rugby ball from kid but Sorensen seriously considered it, dropkicked him from behind, got injured by performing a plancha and then Ion put that rugby ball at steel steps, brought his challenger to ring, performing top rope dropkick, middle rope moonsault from ring and ordered match referee to count. Jesse Sorensen was unable to respond to match referee’s ten count and match referee declared Zema Ion as winner of this match by countout.
