Alex Shelley returned to Impact Wrestling edition on January 19, 2012, talked about his tag team partner Chris Sabin’s injury but revealed his interest about TNA X Division Championship title shot but TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries refused to offer it but suggested him to earn it. Alex Shelley proved it to X Division Champion by defeating Zema Ion on January 26, 2012 Thursday night but Austin Aries proved to Alex Shelley in a triple threat match on February 9, 2012. However, Alex Shelley got his chance to face Austin Aires for his TNA X Division Championship title at TNA Against All Odds 2012.
