WWE Smackdown brand conducted a wrestling match between Beth Phoenix and Layla at Friday night Smackdown edition on January 8, 2010 to entertain wrestling fans. Actually, Beth Phoenix lost match to her fellow diva Mickie James mainly due to Layla and WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool at WWE Smackdown edition on January 1, 2010. However, she destroyed both of them on same night after that wrestling match.

But Beth Phoenix decided to punish Layla to show to inject fear in her by challenging her in this wrestling edition. Layla was not confident. However, WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool motivated her to face Beth Phoenix by standing in ringside. Layla said sorry to Beth Phoenix but Beth Phoenix punished her with her dominating game. Layla asked Michelle McCool for help but she did not.

However, Layla tried to control her but failed. Beth Phoenix destroyed Layla with glam slam. Beth Phoenix later defeated her through pin fall. Michelle McCool shocked by seeing her domination. Indirectly, Beth Phoenix has sent a message to her. Michelle McCool and Layla attacked cheaply. However, Mickie James came and helped Beth Phoenix to saver her. However, Beth Phoenix received a boot shot from Beth Phoenix to take revenge.
