Bill Goldberg worked for World Wrestling Entertainment in 2003. He actually returned to World Wrestling Entertainment by signing an one year contract.

The day after WrestleMania XIX; on March 31, 2003, Bill Goldberg surprised entire wrestling world by interrupting The Rock’s appreciation night show. The Rock was shocked by seeing Bill Goldberg in his show. Bill Goldberg asked The Rock that so Rock you want to know who is next?. he said you are next. He speared People’s Champion and simply returned to backstage.

On April 27 at Backlash pay per view, he beat The Rock after giving powerful spears and Jackhammer. After this match, wrestling fans praised him and even The Rock praised Bill Goldberg by tasting his talent.

The day after Backlash, which means in April 28 Raw edition; he was invited to first ever Chris Jericho’s “Hi-Lite” Reel as guest by his former WCW mate Chris Jericho but that show was interrupted by Christian, Steven Richards, Victoria and 3 Minute Warning members. Steven Richards entered into wrestling ring without proper plan but received a powerful spear from Bill Goldberg. However, Christian and 3 Minute members were escaped intelligently. On same night, he attacked 3 Minute warning members when 3 Minute Warning involves in a match between Booker T and Christian. he speared Rico in ring and destroyed Jamal with Jackhammer and speared Rosey through security wall very powerfully.

On May 5 in WWE Raw, he faced 3-Minute Warning instead of Christian and defeated three of them in 3 on 1 handicap match but attacked by Christian with steel chair after that match. He challenged him for a match and his proposal was approved by Raw general Manager Stone Cold Steve Austin. Raw General Manager also impressed him by making their match as steel cage match. He later accepted Stone Cold Steve Austin’s beer party celebration. He took revenge on Christian inside a steel cage by defeating him in May 12 Monday night Raw.

He was once again invited to Highlight Reel by Chris Jericho at May 26 Raw edition but insulted by Chris Jericho during Highlight Reel. However, he agreed to face Chris Jericho at Bad Blood Pay Per View. Bill Goldberg decided to catch him to teach a lesson but his eyes were damaged due to eyes damaging spray. Later, he received a spear from Y2J but Chris Jericho escaped intelligently by running to backstage.

On June 9 in Raw event, he faced Rosey as per his challenger’s personal interest but attacked by Chris Jericho during the match. However, he punished Chris Jericho and then defeated Rosey.

At June 23 Raw edition, he accepted Theodore Long‘s 5 Minutes White Boy Challenge and defeated undefeated wrestling Superstar Rodney Mack at Madison Square Garden Arena within 26 seconds time span.

At August 4 Monday night Raw event, he got a chance to face Triple H in a world heavyweight championship match at SummerSlam 2003 pay per view. On same night, he faced Nature Boy Ric Flair and defeated him due to Randy Orton’s interference. However, he was attacked by Randy Orton with steel chair and Triple H with sledgehammer but saved by Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash. He slightly discouraged when WWE Raw Co-General Manager made his world championship match as six man elimination chamber match by including Randy Orton, Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho his fellow challengers.

He once again faced Ric Flair in No disqualification match but discouraged by seeing Randy Orton as special guest referee in August 11 Raw edition. With the help of Shawn Michaels’ indirect support, he destroyed both of them and defeated Ric Flair. After that match, he appreciated Shawn Michaels. In August 18 Raw edition, by considering Randy Orton’s past two weeks activities during his matches; he defeated Legend Killer when Stone Cold Steve Austin acts as special guest referee but received a Jackknife power bomb from Kevin Nash after that match.

On August 24, 2003 at SummerSlam pay per view, he destroyed Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H in elimination chamber match. However, he lost match to Triple H due to sledgehammer shot. Evolution members Randy Orton, Ric Flair and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H once again seriously injured Bill Goldberg without mercy after that wrestling match. However, he challenged new world’s heavyweight champion Triple H for a match in August 25 Raw event. His challenge was accepted by Triple H under one condition on same night. In other words, Goldberg should not wrestle in any wrestling ring if he loses to Triple H at Unforgiven pay per view.

On September 1 at Raw event, he teamed up with Shawn Michaels and Maven Huffman and defeated Evolution‘s members Triple H, Randy Orton and Ric Flair in a six man tag team match and also issued a warning to World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion

Bill Goldberg hunted for WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Finally, Bill Goldberg become new WWE World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Triple H at Wrestling Pay Per View WWE Unforgiven 2003 and continued his successful wrestling career as WWE World Heavyweight Champion till WWE Armageddon 2003 by losing his title to Triple H. In other words, Bill Goldberg gains his WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H and lost to same opponent Triple H.

He faced World’s strongest man Mark Henry in a wrestling match on October 6 at Raw because Mark Henry would like to collected $100,000 USD from Triple H by destroying champion. During this match, he was injured by Rodney Mack with steel chair but received help from Shawn Michaels and defeated Mark Henry. Unfortunately, he accidentally speared Shawn Michaels and did not even tell sorry to HBK. However, he teamed up with Shawn Michaels and defeated Mark Henry and Evolution members Randy Orton and Ric Flair in three on two handicap match but received a sweet chin music from Shawn Michaels after that match in October 13 Raw event. On same night, he was ordered by Raw Co-General Manager Eric Bischoff to face Heart Break Kid in next week Raw edition but putting World Heavyweight Championship title on the line.

As per Eric Bischoff’s order, he faced Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels in a world heavyweight championship match in October 20 Raw edition but this wrestling match was stopped by Batista’s involvement. He and his challenger were punished by Batista but Dave Batista received $100,000 USD from Triple H.

On December 8 in Raw edition WWE Undisputed Heavyweight Champion defeated Kane in a Lumberjack Match in front of lumberjacks Mark Henry, Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista due to disqualification.
