Career threatening match is one kind of wrestling match, in which one of the wrestling superstar’s career should be on the line. The respective wrestling superstar has to retire from professional wrestling if the wrestling superstar loses his match.

On January 27, 2008 in Royal Rumble pay per view the nature boy Ric Flair put his career on the line against WWE United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter in a career threating match but successfully protected his career by winning this match.

Jeff Hardy faced Undertaker in a Ladder match for WWE Undisputed Championship. Jeff hardy gave real toughness to Undertaker but Undertaker defeated Jeff hardy. However, Jeff Hardy called Undertaker for further destruction but Undertaker appreciated Jeff hardy and raised his hand as a true champion.
On July 22, 2002 WWE European Champion Jeff Hardy and WWE Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam participated in ladder match for title unification. However, Rob Van Dam defeated Jeff hardy and appreciated him after this match for his excellent wrestling performance.
