Elimination Chamber Match

Elimination Chamber is a most dangerous wrestling match of World Wrestling Entertainment and now it one of the most entertaining pay per view. Former WWE Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff invented concept of elimination chamber, created originally for Raw brand and introduced it at Survivor Series wrestling pay per view in 2002. In 2006, WWE extended this concept to ECW and also extended to Smackdown in 2008. According to history, Edge participated in two elimination chambers on same night in 2009. World Wrestling Entertainment made elimination chamber concept as annual wrestling pay per view in 2010 and totally conducted 13 wrestling matches.

In 2002, Eric Bischoff conducted first Elimination Chamber match at Survivor Series on November 17, 2002 with Raw wrestling superstars Booker T, Chris Jericho, Kane, Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam and World Heavyweight champion Triple H. The returned Shawn Michaels utilized this opportunity and became new WWE World Heavyweight Champion but the game Triple H retained his World Heavyweight Championship title by facing Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Randy Orton and Bill Goldberg at SummerSlam on August 24, 2003. After that match, he assaulted Goldberg with his Evolution members.

At New Year’s Revolution on January 9, 2005, WWE appointed Shawn Michaels as special guest referee and conducted a match and Triple H became new World Heavyweight Champion by facing Batista, Chris Benoit, Edge, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton. At New Year’s Revolution on January 8, 2006, John Cena retained his WWE Championship title by facing Carlito, Kane, Shawn Michaels, Chris Masters, Kurt Angle and Heart Break Kid.

At December to Dismember pay per view on December 3, 2006, World Wrestling Entertainment extended this concept to ECW and Bobby Lashley became new ECW World Champion by facing Hardcore Holly, CM Punk, Rob Van Dam, Test and ECW World Champion The Big Show. However, WWE did not conduct any match in 2007 but at No Way Out on February 17, 2008, WWE conducted two matches to determine #1 contender of World Heavyweight Championship title and #1 contender of WWE Championship title. Undertaker utilized opportunity by facing ECW and Smackdown superstars Big Daddy V, Finlay, Great Khali, Montel Vontavious Porter and Batista and reserved a world title match at WrestleMania XXIV. Similarly, Triple H used this advantage by facing Chris Jericho, John Bradshaw Layfield, Shawn Michaels, Umaga and Jeff Hardy and also reversed a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 24.

On February 15, 2009 at No Way Out pay per view, Triple H became WWE Champion by facing Jeff Hardy, Undertaker, Vladimir Kozlov, Big Show and WWE Champion Rated R Superstar Edge but Edge participated in another Kofi Kingston’s place, faced Chris Jericho, Kane, Mike Knox, Rey Mysterio and WWE Champion John Cena and became new WWE Champion.

On February 21, 2010, World Wrestling Entertainment made this concept as annual wrestling pay per view and conducted two elimination chamber matches. John Cena became WWE Champion by facing Sheamus, Triple H, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase and Kofi Kingston. Similarly, Chris Jericho became new World Heavyweight Champion by facing R Truth, Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and John Morrison.

At Elimination Chamber pay per view on February 20, 2011, Edge retained his World Heavyweight Championship title by facing Rey Mysterio, Big Show, Kane, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre. On same night, John Cena earned WWE Championship opportunity at WrestleMania XXVII by facing Sheamus, CM Punk, R Truth, John Morrison and Randy Orton.
