Mike Knox faced Finlay in a Belfast Brawl match at Smackdown on September 11, 2009.  The war between Mike Knox and Finlay becomes very serious. The combination of these two wrestling superstars becomes must and should in every Smackdown edition. On July 31, 2009 in Smackdown edition, Finlay teamed up with Rey Mysterio and defeated Mike Knox in a tag team match. Due to Finlay’s special focus, Mike Knox also lost fatal four way match on August 7, 2009. Finlay also defeated Mike Knox in one on one wrestling match on august 21, 2009. Similarly, Finlay teamed up with Great Khali and defeated Mike Knox on September 4, 2009 in Smackdown edition.

Finlay continued his domination over Mike Knox every week. However, Mike Knox finally faced Finlay in a Belfast Brawl match. Finlay gave good starting to this wrestling match successfully handled Mike Knox. Mike Knox tried to attack Finlay with a steel chair but Finlay injured Mike Knox with same steel chair. However, Mike Knox destroyed Finlay with same steel chair. Similarly, Mike Knox destroyed Finlay with trash cans and damaged him with table. However, Finlay surprised Mike Knox with his drum stick and defeated Mike Knox through pin fall. Finlay celebrated his victory with wrestling fans and continued his domination over Mike Knox.
