Jeff Hardy Vs Bobby Roode for TNA World Heavyweight Championship title at Genesis 2012
On December 11, 2011 at Final Resolution pay per view, Jeff Hardy defeated Jeff Jarrett in a steel cage match to become new #1 contender of TNA world title and reserved a TNA World Championship match at TNA Genesis 2012. At December 15, 2011 Impact Wrestling edition, Bobby Roode successfully retained TNA World Heavyweight Championship title twice in two different 5 minutes time limit match. After that match, Bobby Roode was ready to face Jeff Hardy to defend his TNA World Heavyweight Championship title as per his interview but attacked Jeff Hardy after Jeff Hardy’s match and helped Bully Ray to out Jeff Hardy through a table.
They both reached a corner where Roode pushed Jeff disrespectfully but received a warning from match referee. After that he applied side headlock, delivered a shoulder block which injured Hardy severely and Hardy went to a corner with pain. TNA World Heavyweight Champion turned left hand, twisted it powerfully, pulled it down, turned and then twisted it forcefully. The Charismatic Enigma reversed his trick by turning hand, converted it into side headlock, delivered a shoulder block, performed arm drag and applied shoulder lock. They reached a corner where Bobby knee kicked to midsection, punches to face but Legend Thriller attacked him with a forearm smash, several punches to face, several kicks to midsection at a corner, performed headscissors takedown with ring corner’s help, atomic drop, double leg drop to opponent’s midsection, dropkicked to face but TNA Champion attacked his eyes cheaply.
The It Factor of Professional Wrestling punched to head, got a kick to midsection while planning to perform to back body drop and eliminated to outside by a clothesline. Jeff Hardy dropkicked to oncoming Roode with top rope’s help, performed high flying clothesline from edge of the ring but Bobby Roode injured backbone area by hitting it to a side of the ring. TNA World Heavyweight Champion punched to face powerfully, pushed him towards steel steps but Hardy reversed his trick and successfully injured his knee. The Rainbow Haired Warrior performed Poetry in Motion with steel steps support and they entered into ring where Hardy hits head on to a corner, connected reverse elbow but got injured because of Roode’s quick reaction while performing Whisper in the Wind.
Leader of the Selfish Generation hanged his opponent downwards with a corner’s support, kicked on front body repeatedly, kicked on shoulder, backbreaker; kicked on backbone, heel, then shoulder block to midsection at a corner, damaged backbone by powerfully pushing his body towards opposite corner, performed rotating belly to back side slam, high knee drop on face from middle rope, connected knee to backbone, applied chin lock, received elbow shots to midsection but Roode hits head to ground with his hair. He threw Hardy to outside of the ring, ripped Hardy’s fan placard, kicked to midsection, injured ribs by dropping his body on barricade, dragged him to ring where he applied necklock, received some elbows but punched on head in return and punished him with a crossface submission.
The Canadian Enforcer slammed him, planning perform a high flying move but surprised with a big boot from #1 contender. The anti-Christ of professional wrestling punched him several times, forearm smash to head, clothesline, reverse elbow and performed back body drop, dropkicked, body drop drop cornered superstar, did not give chance by performing side slam, surprised with Sitout jawbreaker but Bobby Roode smashed him with a spinebuster. TNA Champion lifted him to top rope, planning to perform superplex but Jeff punched at kidney and performed front slam. However, Bobby Roode left the ring, collected title belt, walks on stage to go to backstage but Jeff Hardy attacked him from behind and brought him to ring.
Bobby Roode pushed match referee towards Jeff Hardy, the kicked on face, performed snap suplex but Jeff Hardy kicked at midsection, surprised with a Twist of Hate, performed Whisper in the Wind and decided to end this match. However, Bobby Roode collected his belt from SoCal Val but attacked by Jeff Hardy again. This time match referee stopped Jeff hardy not to perform twist of hate on title belt but Bobby Roode tried to pin him by putting legs on top rope. Match referee seriously considered, gave a warning but pushed by TNA World Heavyweight Champion. The Canadian Enforcer signaled Hardy to stop their match but surprised match referee with a low blow. After severe pain, match referee disqualified TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode and considered Jeff hardy is winner of this match. However, Jeff Hardy was unable to become TNA World Heavyweight Champion again.
