Hell In a Cell is a brand new wrestling pay per view of World Wrestling Entertainment. World Wrestling Entertainment conducted Hell In a Cell 2009 pay per view at Newark, NJ on October 4, 2009 with WWE Raw and Smackdown brands’ wrestling superstars. This pay per view followed by Breaking Point 2009 and builds story for next brand new pay per view Bragging Rights 2009. Every wrestling match decided inside 20 feet high, 10 ton in weight and 700 sq.ft steel cell. Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole are Raw brand Commentators. Todd Grisham and Jim Ross were official Smackdown brand commentators. World Wrestling Entertainment highlighted this wrestling pay per view with 7 wrestling matches.

#1 contender Dolph Ziggler failed to defeat Rey Mysterio in WWE Intercontinental Championship match at SummerSlam 2009. However, Dolph Ziggler once again became new #1 contender by defeating Finlay and Mike Knox in a triple threat match at Superstars on August 27, 2009 to face Rey Mysterio at Breaking Point 2009 Pay Per View.
Unfortunately, Rey Mysterio lost his WWE Intercontinental Championship to John Morrison at Smackdown edition on September 4, 2009. World Wrestling Entertainment canceled Intercontinental Championship match at Breaking Point 2009 pay per view. However, Dolph Ziggler appeared at Breaking Point and insulted first ever Intercontinental Champion Pet Patterson and injured him without respect but John Morrison saved Pat Patterson from Dolph Ziggler on September 13, 2009.
On September 18, 2009 at Smackdown edition after John Morrison’s match with Mike Knox, John Morrison offered a rematch to Rey Mysterio but Dolph Ziggler opposed John Morrison’s offer. John Morrison seriously considered Dolph Ziggler’s interruption and insulted Dolph Ziggler by telling his names as Dolph Ziggles. Dolph Ziggler seriously considered his mocking and returned to backstage with frustration.
Dolph Ziggler teamed up with Mike Knox to face Finlay and John Morrison at Smackdown edition on September 25, 2009 but defeated by Finlay and WWE Intercontinental Champion John Morrison.

Alicia Fox became new #1 contender of WWE Divas Champion by defeating Gail Kim in a triple threat match and this match was arranged by WWE Raw Guest Host Trish Stratus on 14 September 2009 Raw. Alicia Fox attended to WWE Divas Champion Mickie James match and seriously damaged Mickie James’s neck with leg drop on 21 September 2009 Raw. Similarly, Alicia Fox also encouraged Rosa Mendes against WWE Divas Champion Mickie James but received a warning from Divas Champion on 28 September 2009 Raw. Finally, Alicia Fox faced WWE Divas Champion Mickie James inside a cell for WWE Divas Championship in this biggest pay per view main event.

On September 14, 2009 in Raw edition, WWE Raw Guest Host Trish Stratus announced a WWE Championship match which is rematch of Breaking Point’s I Quit match between Randy Orton and WWE Champion John Cena. On same night, John Cena interviewed by Josh Mathews. John Cena wants to take revenge over Randy Orton inside a cell but after hell in a cell he will remain WWE Champion as per John Cena’s open statement. Later, John Cena appeared Batista’s last match with Randy Orton and attacked Randy Orton when Randy Orton tried to escape from Batista in holds barred match.

Legacy noted a memorable victory over D Generation X in submission count anywhere match at Breaking Point pay per view on September 13, 2009. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase appeared to Raw edition on September 14, 2009. Ted DiBiase faced Shawn Michaels but disqualified by Cody Rhodes’s involvement. Later, Legacy attacked by D Generation X after that wrestling match. D Generation X completely dominated Legacy with frustration.
Triple H faced Cody Rhodes in one on one match at Raw edition on September 21, 2009 but Ted DiBiase attacked Triple H with steel chair shot. Legacy members Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase well handled Shawn Michaels and Triple H with their serious destruction. Later, Shawn Michaels brought a steel sledgehammer to attack Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. However, Triple H defeated Cody Rhodes due to disqualification.
