At November 29, 2010 Monday night Raw, the Raw commentator Jerry Lawler got one and only golden opportunity in his entire professional wrestling career to become WWE Champion but unfortunately, The king lost the match to WWE Champion The Miz in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match mainly due to his fellow Raw commentator Michael Cole’s interference. However, he earned a WWE Championship match by winning the first ever raw royal rumble in January 31, 2011 Monday night Raw and reserved a WWE Championship title shot against The Miz at Elimination Chamber pay per view.

However, Jerry Lawler’s mother death was also slightly disturbed him and lost WWE Championship match to The Miz at Elimination Chamber 2011 pay per view. Michael Cole did not show sympathy to his fellow commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry by insulting his mother as well as his elimination chamber failure in February 21, 2011 Raw event but Jerry Lawler issued a challenge to Michael Cole for WrestleMania pay per view. At February 28, 2011 Raw event Michael Cole accepted his challenger under two stipulations which means his trainer should be in corner and Lawler should allow him to choose special guest referee for their match. Lawler accepted his challenger but Cole’s trainer Jack Swagger seriously damaged injured Jerry with ankle lock submission after that.

At March 7, 2011 Monday night Raw live event, Cole introduced John Bradshaw Layfield as his guest referee of his match and encouraged him to sign on WrestleMania contract but Stone Cold Steve Austin destroyed their plans by signing on WrestleMania contract instead of JBL and destroyed JBL with two stunners. In March 14, 2011 Raw edition, Michael Cole irritated his challenger by bringing his son to WWE Raw tell what kind of person Jerry Lawler is to WWE Universe. Brian Lawler insulted his father and also disrespected his father with cheap shots. Jim Ross returned to WWE to tell actual facts about Jerry but both of them were seriously punished by Jack Swagger and Cole with ankle lock submission.

World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed a wrestling match between these professional wrestling superstars as per their agreement at WrestleMania 27. Michael Cole wasted lot of time with warm up exercises. Stone Cold Steve Austin ordered Jerry Lawler to bring Cole to ring but Jack Swagger tried to attack Jerry Lawler but Jerry Lawler escaped from him and attacked him with punches and hits head to ring pole. After that he injured Jack Swagger with security wall. The King ordered Cole to enter into ring but Michael Cole begs Jerry Lawler and offered shake hand to Lawler but Jerry pulled Cole to injure him with announce table. After that he entered onto his protective chamber and hits his head to wall of Cole’s walls.

Cole drop kicked Lawler and Jack Swagger applied ankle lock at outside of the ring when Cole diverted Stone Cold. Cole demanded the special guest referee to count 10. After that Cole worked on injuring his knee as per Jack Swagger’s guidance, kicked on knee several times, delivered cole’s bomb just like Swagger but Jerry recovered from injuries, punched into stomach but Michael Cole further damaged his opponent’s knee further, applied ankle lock but Lawler kicked his challenger several times but Jack Swagger threw his towel into ring and Stone Cold cleaned his head and then threw it on Swagger.

Jack Swagger seriously considered and argued to Stone Cold and Steve Austin delivered a stunner to Jack Swagger, after that Cole begs Stone cold but became aggressive and puts his hands on Austin. The special guest referee pushed cole and Jerry punched to his head several times, drop kicked, delivered high flying punch to face and then applied ankle lock submission and tapped out. Stone Cold ordered time keeper to ring bell and raised Jerry Lawler as winner of this match. However, because of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s involvement in their match, anonymous Raw GM disqualified Jerry Lawler and made Michael Cole as winner of this match.
