Konnan got a chance to face WCW United States (U.S) Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg for WCW United States Heavyweight Championship at The Great American Bash 1998. Konnan lost his wrestling match to Bill Goldberg but fellow New World Order (nWo) Wolfpac members Curt Hennig and Rick Rude destroyed him. However, Lex Luger and Kevin Nash saved Konnan from Curt Hennig and Rick Rude.
