WWE United States Champion Shelton Benjamin teamed up Chavo Guerrero to face R Truth and Montel Vontavious Porter in a tag team match at WWE Smackdown on February 20, 2009. Chavo Guerrero and Shelton Benjamin attacked R Truth before this match. Later, MVP came and attacked Chavo Guerrero and WWE United States Champion Shelton Benjamin. WWE officials involved and separated them. WWE officials was sent R Truth for medical treatment. MVP decided to face challengers alone.

MVP and WWE United States Champion Shelton Benjamin started this wrestling match officially. MVP surprised Shelton Benjamin with back suplex. MVP continued his dominating wrestling performance. Later, Chavo Guerrero joined with MVP by receiving an official tag from Shelton Benjamin. MVP recovered from injuries and dropped Chavo Guerrero. Once again damaged Chavo Guerrero’s front body with front body slam. Chavo Guerrero also tried to control MVP but failed.

Shelton Benjamin interrupted pin fall and received a hand punch from MVP. MVP injured himself his leg by hitting to one corner of the ring. Shelton Benjamin later joined with MVP. Shelton Benjamin damaged back of MVP with back suplex. Chavo Guerrero later faced MVP. Chavo Guerrero damaged back of MVP with triple back suplex. Chavo Guerrero attacked Shelton Benjamin due to their egos. Chavo Guerrero gave a splash to Shelton Benjamin. MVP used this advantage and seriously injured Shelton Benjamin with powerful boot shot. MVP successfully defeated Shelton Benjamin through pin fall.
