On January 1, 2010 at Smackdown, the animal faced R Truth in beat the clock challenge match to defeat his opponent within 7 minutes 19 seconds, which was actually set by his former friend Rey Mysterio. He almost reached his goal but unable to defeat his opponent due to Rey Mysterio's involvement. However, he got #1 contender's match with Rey Mysterio in next week Smackdown edition as per Vickie Guerrero's announcement.
He interviewed by Josh Mathews on January 15, 2010 at Smackdown but he does not want to answer more questions and ordered Josh Mathews to close the interview. Later, he faced Rey Mysterio in a steel cage match, which is also #1 contender's match but defeated by the Rey Mysterio surprisingly.
On February 12, 2010 he attended to Smackdown edition as per Josh Mathews's invitation but he does not talk even one word and wasted time and then returned to backstage though wrestling fans insult him.
WWE Champion
WWE Champion diverted concentration of John Cena in WrestleMania XX rewind match and gave a warning to John Cena after that match and then he defeated Kofi Kingston in a match on March 15, 2010 Raw event.

On December 9, 2002 in Raw Is War, Batista faced Rob Van Dam in one on one wrestling match and defeated RVD due to Kane's interference.

2007
On August 26, 2007, he lost WWE World Heavyweight Champion title match due to The Great Khali's disqualification. Batista seriously reacted and destroyed the champion with powerful steel chair shots.

On October 12, 2007 in Smackdown, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista attended to #1 contender's match as a special guest commentator. Batista discouraged due to double disqualification of Finlay and Rey Mysterio. However, Batista shocked by seeing The Undertaker in wrestling ring. Batista received a challenge from The Undertaker and accepted his challenge by raising his title over his head.
2008
On August 17, 2008 at SummerSlam, he faced John Cena in one on one match and faced very tough competition. However, the animal defeated John Cena.
2009
On April 20, 2009 at Raw, Batista faced Chavo Guerrero and defeated him within few seconds. On same night Batista saved Triple H and Shane McMahon from Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase but accidentally speared Shane McMahon. Later, Batista injured by steel ring pole.
On April 24, 2009 at Smackdown edition, Batista teamed up with Shane McMahon to face priceless in a tag team match and successfully defeated Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.
On April 26, 2009 at Backlash 2009, Batista with Shane McMahon participated in Triple H's corner in a six man tag team match to face Legacy members Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and Randy Orton. Batista well dominated challenging team but Triple H lost his title to Randy Orton by loosing this six man tag team match.
On May 11, 2009 in Raw edition, the animal Batista invited by the WWE Champion Randy Orton to join in Legacy but Batista rejected their proposal and decided to destroy them. However, Vickie Guerrero made match which is a two on one handicap match between Batista and Legacy. Unfortunately, Batista disqualified due to Cody Rhodes' cheap trick. As per match stipulation, Dave Batista met WWE Champion Randy Orton and Legacy members Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase in a three on one handicap match. Batista destroyed Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase before this wrestling match and faced Randy Orton in one on one match. Batista disqualified again but destroyed Randy Orton and Legacy members Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.
On May 17, 2009 at Judgment Day, the animal Batista faced WWE Champion Randy Orton for WWE Championship. Batista well handled Randy Orton from starting to ending but Randy Orton disqualified by slapping match referee to retain his title. Later, Batista attacked by Legacy but Nature Boy Ric Flair saved Batista. Batista and Ric Flair destroyed Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and WWE Champion Randy Orton.
Batista Returns to WWE
On September 14, 2009 in Raw edition, the animal Batista officially returned to World Wrestling Entertainment. Batista requested WWE Raw Guest Host Trish Stratusd a match with former WWE Champion Randy Orton. Later, Batista appeared in ring said thanks to every wrestling fan. Randy Orton also appeared to his show and suggested Batista to retire from professional wrestling by seeing his injured left hand. Batista surprised Randy Orton with close line and then powerful powerful slam. Batista said to Randy Orton, i am here to go to Smackdown but he is going to face Randy Orton in a no holds barred match. Later, Batista faced Randy Orton in no holds barred match last time and destroyed Randy Orton with powerful power game. Batista finally defeated Randy Orton through pin fall after giving a batista bomb.
Smackdown Wrestler
On September 18, 2009 in Smackdown edition, the animal Batista returned to Smackdown but insulted by WWE unified tag team champion Chris Jericho. However, Batista challenged Chris Jericho a match but destroyed with spine buster. Later, batsita faced Chris Jericho and defeated him with his powerful game.
On October 9, 2009 in Smackdown, Batista met Rey Mysterio and appreciated Rey Mysterio for his memory at Hell In a Cell pay per view. Later, Batista met CM Punk in a match but lost due to count out.
