In January 10 Raw event, he had a serious argument with Michael Cole, but their issue was settled by anonymous General Manager and pinned Alex Riley in a tag team match by teaming up with Randy Orton and take retribution against another challenger Miz in this match.
He participated in seven man raw rumble as per anonymous GM’s order, eliminated John Cena but won it with the help of John Cena by eliminating Sheamus at January 31 Raw event. After that match he celebrated his victory with John Cena and become new #1 contender of Miz’s title and also reserved a championship match at Elimination Chamber.

At WrestleMania 27 on April 3, 2011, Jerry Lawler won his first WrestleMania match by making Michael Cole tap out with Stone Cold’s support but disqualified by anonymous Raw GM in few moments and put his hands on Josh Mathews because of frustration on GM.
