The assistant of 2011 Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio, Ricardo Rodriguez participated in 2012 Royal Rumble match as #8 entrant, well imitated his boss Alberto Del Rio, even got support from WWE Universe as well as Mick Foley, then eliminated Justin Gabriel by partnering with Mick Foley but eliminated by Santino Marella.

At January 7 Smackdown event, he made Rey Mysterio as loser of two out of three falls match and his boss Del Rio won that match. However, he was received a 619 and high flying cross body from Rey Mysterio. He also gave another victory to his boss Del Rio by diverting concentration of R Truth, but received a shot from him and later sing a song to show Mexican music to people as per his boss’s request in January 10 Raw event.

At March 25, 2011 Friday night, he puts his boss’s leg on bottom rope to save his boss match. He worked against edge during World Heavyweight Championship match between his boss and edge on April 3, 2011 at WrestleMania XXVII and saved by Brodus Clay from Christian.
