Theodore (Teddy) Long

Theodore R Teddy Long, born on September 15, 1947 is a wrestling manager, match referee and also General Manager for different brands. Teddy Long worked as Smackdown General Manager from July 29, 2004 to September 21, 2007 but WWE demoted as Assistant General Manager of Smackdown brand on November 30, 2007 but he quits from his job on May 16, 2008. However, Theodore Long worked as ECW General Manager from June 3, 2008 to April 7, 2009. He started his professional career in wrestling industry in 1985. Teddy Long once again takes charge as Smackdown General Manager on April 10, 2009.

He acted as manager of list of professional wrestling superstars in his career.

2012

General Manager of Smackdown

In January 6, 2012 Smackdown event, he met his assistant who is United States Champion Zack Ryder in his office, understood his problem, released from his assistant to GM duties officially, consider Ryder’s replacement Santino Marella, made a match between Santino and Drew McIntyre and mentioned them; if Marella defeats Drew, santino will be his assistant otherwise he considers McIntyre not to fire from Smackdown. He later talked to Aksana and interested to spend some time with her after Smackdown event. He met Drew again at backstage, seriously considered another failure of Drew McIntyre but gave a final chance to him and appointed Santino Marella as his new assistant.

At January 13 Friday night Smackdown event, he heard some ideas from his new assistant but did like but their meeting was interrupted by Otunga, questioned him why he is in his show! Received message from John Laurinaitis related to Royal Rumble but put him in a match with his assistant as per Marella’s interest. He expected Aksana but McIntyre came. However, GM doesn’t want to hear him anymore for his failures and arranged a match with Ted DiBiase. Later he was lured by Aksana.

He attended to February 3 Smackdown edition, announced list of 2012 Smackdown elimination chamber match participants but disrespected by one of participants Mark Henry. He was demanded by Mark Henry to exclude him from elimination chamber match, even forced by same superstar to make a match with Daniel Bryan but Theodore Long seriously considered it, removed him from elimination chamber, suspended Mark Henry immediately and saved by 2012 Royal Rumble match winner Sheamus when Henry tried to manhandle him. He congratulated Sheamus for winning the 2012 Royal Rumble and later made a match between Cody and Sheamus. He advised Drew McIntyre to do something instead of getting a match, granted match for team of Santino Marella and Jim Duggan to avoid their headache, lured by Aksana, later officially replaced Mark Henry with The Great Khali, discussed Daniel Bryan’s girlfriend AJ Lee’s problem with Big Show and made a match for Daniel Bryan with Randy Orton for February 10, 2012 Smackdown event.

2011

Theodore Long gave a warning to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Alberto Del Rio individually, if anyone of them or both of them at least touches each other before WrestleMania, they both will be banned from WrestleMania. Edge respected his decision by controlling his inner feeling but Del Rio said to GM, you can’t do it but GM replied to him without Del Rio, WWE conducted 26 WrestleManias.

Theodore Long appeared as offcial manager of Rodney Mack t WWE Raw edition and challenge any white boy to face Rodney Mack. Bill Goldberg responded to Theodore Long and defated Rodney Mack in only 26 seconds at Madison Sqaure Garden Arena.

2010

General Manager of Smackdown

On January 29, 2010, he surprised the straightedge society members by canceling their unified tag team championship match but ordered Triple H and Shawn Michaels to face CM Punk and Rey Mysterio in one on one wrestling matches.

On May 7 in Smackdown edition, the Smackdown general manager initially suspended Drew McIntyre when Drew McIntyre seriously injures Matt Hardy but he does not listen to him. Finally, Teddy Long took Intercontinental title back from Drew McIntyre and fired from Smackdown. Later, he conducted Intercontinental championship tournament by selecting Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Christian and Cody Rhodes.

At Friday night November 5 Smackdown edition, the Smackdown general manager conducted a five on five tag team match between Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Edge, Alberto Del Rio and Nexus but later replaced Rey Mysterio with Kofi Kingston when Nexus attacks Rey Mysterio. Similarly, he met Hornswoggle and also Vickie Guerrero. He arranged a wrestling match between Vickie Guerrero and Kaitlyn as per Vickie Guerrero’s interest.

2003

Manager of Mark Henry

On November 17, 2003 in Raw, his man was appreciated by the Eric Bischoff but Mark Henry lost his match to Booker T even though Theodore Long tried to divert the concentration of Booker T. He and his man argued with match referee after that match. However, they met Eric Bischoff and got a salt lake street fight match and his man defeated Booker T on November 24, 2003 Raw edition.

2009

General Manager of Smackdown

On December 18, 2009 at Smackdown, Theodore Long talked about brand new pay per view TLC 2009's success and also talked about World Heavyweight Championship match between Batista and the undertaker. Due to Batista's failure, he decided to make a new #1 contender but Batista forced him to make him #1 contender but theodore Long arranged a #1 contender's match between Dave Batista and Rey Mysterio.
