William Regal

Darren Kenneth Matthews, popularly known with his one of the ring names William Regal, born on May 10, 1968; is a professional wrestling superstar. He trained by Marty Jones and started his professional wrestling career in August 1983.

Lord Steve Regal accomplished his first WCW World Television title by defeating Ricky Steamboat at Fall Brawl on September 19, 1993 but lost title to Larry Zbyszko at WCW Saturday night on May 28, 1994. However he defeated him at Clash of the Champions XXVII main event on June 23, 1994 to become second time WCW World Television Champion but at Fall Brawl on September 18, 1994 he lost title to Johnny B. Badd.

Lord Steven Regal once again became World television champion in August 31, 1996 WCW Nitro event by defeating Lex Luger but lost title to Prince Laukea February 17, 1997 Nitro event but regain the title fourth time by defeating Ultimo Dragon at Slamboree on May 18, 1997 but in July 22, 1997 Nitro event he lost the title to Ultimo Dragon.

William Regal defeated Al Snow in a match to become WWF/E European Champion in October 16, 2000 Raw event but lost to Crash Holly at Rebellion on December 2, 2000 but defeated the same superstar to become second time European Champion in December 4, 2000 Raw event. After that he lost European Championship title to Test in January 22, 2001 Raw event.

At Royal Rumble on January 20, 2002 he defeated Edge to become WWE Intercontinental Champion first time but lost title to Rob Van Dam at WrestleMania X8 on March 17, 2002. At March 21, 2002 Smackdown event, he defeated Diamond Dallas page to become WWE European Champion third time and won his first Hardcore Championship title in April 7, 2002 by defeating Bubba Ray Dudley but on same night lost to Goldust in a live event. Similarly in April 8, 2002 event he lost European championship title to Spike Dudley. However he once again defeated Bubba Ray Dudley in April 13, 2002 Live event to become Hardcore Champion second time but on same night he lost title to Spike Dudley. However in April 14, 2002 Live event, he one more time defeated Bubba Ray Dudley to become hardcore champion third time but lost to spike Dudley in another match on same night. He defeated the spike Dudley to become WWE European Champion fourth time in May 6, 2002 Raw event but lost title to Jeff Hardy in July 8, 2002 Raw event.

He teamed up with Lance Storm to become first WWE World tag team champion by defeating Booker T and Goldust in January 16, 2003 Raw event but lost to Dudley Bozy at Royal Rumble on January 19, 2003 but however they defeated the same tag team in January 20, 2003 Raw event. Due to Regal’s injury, he vacated title in March 24, 2003 Raw event.

William Regal teamed up with Eugene to become World tag team champion third time by defeating La Resistance in November 15, 2004 Raw event but lost title to same team in January 16, 2005 but defeated La Resistance in another match by teaming up with Tajiri to become world tag team champion fourth time in February 4, 2005 Raw event but lost title to Hurricane and Rosey in a tag team turmoil match at Backlash on May 1, 2005.

William Regal takes charge as official Raw General Manager on August 6, 2007. He won King of the Ring tournament at King of The Ring pay per view on April 21, 2008. Due to match stipulation, he lost his job as General Manager of Raw on May 19, 2008.

William Regal defeated Santino Marella in November 10, 2008 in home town to become second time Intercontinental Champion at WWE Raw event but lost to CM Punk on January 19, 2009 Raw.

On April 1, 2001 at WrestleMania X-Seven, he was defeated by Chris Jericho in an Intercontinental Championship match.

Raw General Manager

On January 7, 2008 at Raw, he met the chairman of the WWE to tell something but the chairman does not give much importance to his talking but received new year greetings from owner. He attacked by triple h. However, he later faced triple h in first blood match by defeated by the game.

2009

On February 16, 2009 in Raw, William Regal teamed up with Priceless Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase to face WWE Intercontinental Champion CM Punk, Cryme Tyme JTG and Shad Gaspard in six man tag team match and successfully won this match

On September 3, 2009 at Superstars edition, William Regal faced Tyler Reks but faced very tough competition from Tyler Reks. However, William Regal defeated Tyler Reks and ordered his followers Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson to destroy Tyler Reks. As per William Regal's order, Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson destroyed Tyler Reks. On September 8, 2009 in ECW edition, William Regal appeared as a manager of Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov for their tag team match with Tommy Dreamer and Christian. After this match, William Regal attacked Tommy Dremer and Christian with regal stretch and boot shot respectively.

On September 22, 2009 in ECW edition, William Regal attended as a manager of Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov. After that wrestling match, William Regal met Goldust and talked about their match at Superstars edition. William Regal considered their match as joke. William Regal gave a warning to Goldust and then interrupted Christian's celebration. William Regal wants to become new #1 contender of ECW Championship. William Regal touched ECW title but attacked by ECW Champion Christian.
