World Wrestling Entertainment conducted a triple threat #1 contender’s match between one former WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston and two former WWE Champions Randy Orton and John Cena as per the guest of Raw Mike Tyson’s order on January 11, 2010 Raw. WWE Champion Sheamus also permitted them to wrestle in this triple threat #1 contender’s match.

John Cena and Kofi Kingston started this match with Randy Orton and they both seriously destroyed the legend killer by working as a tag team. Later, Kofi Kingston and John Cena decided to face each other. Suddenly, WWE Champion Sheamus came to divert their concentration. However, Randy Orton used this opportunity and attacked both of them from behind and then punished both challengers to become #1 contender.

Cody Rhodes seriously injured John Cena with the help of steel steps and then diverted concentration of match referee. In this mean time, Ted DiBiase seriously injured Kofi Kingston within wrestling ring. Randy Orton utilized this opportunity and defeated Kofi Kingston through pin fall after giving RKO to become new #1 contender for Sheamus’s WWE Championship title and reserved a wrestling match with Sheamus at Royal Rumble 2010.
