Rob Van Dam faced nature boy Ric Flair at WWE No Mercy 2002 pay per view. Ric Flair tried to escape from Rob Van Dam at the starting of this match but Rob Van Dam attacked Ric Flair at out side of the ring. Rob Van Dam injured Ric Flair with steel ring pole.

Rob Van Dam surprised Ric Flair with his high flying mixed martial arts wrestling performance. Ric flair diverted referee concentration and injured lower part of RVD with lower blow. Ric Flair damaged knee of RVD and continued his domination. Nature Boy Ric Flair applied finger four leg leg but RVD reversed his submission.

Rob Van Dam injured himself to drop kick Ric Flair. Rob Van Dam dropped Ric Flair from top rope and then gave rolling thunder to Ric Flair. Rob Van Dam destroyed Ric Flair with five star splash and defeated Nature boy ric flair through pin fall.
