Smackdown - January 20, 2012

WWE Smackdown is a second longest running weekly episodic television program of World Wrestling Entertainment. World Wrestling Entertainment presents its 648 weekly episodic wrestling event at Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nevada on January 17, 2012 but taped for January 20, 2012 Smackdown television program. Storyline of this Friday night Smackdown wrestling edition is developed as January 13, 2012 Smackdown edition as well as previous annual wrestling pay per view Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2012. Similarly, it develops storyline for January 27, 2012 Smackdown event as well as next annual wrestling pay per view Royal Rumble 2012. Michael Cole, Josh Mathews and Booker T were official commentators and Lilian Garcia was official ring announcer of this special wrestling.

Lilian Garcia invited WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan but he received mixed response from WWE Universe. It seems Daniel Bryan is not happy personally because of his girlfriend’s tragedy.

Daniel Bryan insulted Big Show to show love on his girlfriend

He said tonight’s Smackdown is from Sin City. World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan came to Las Vega to talk what Big Show did to his girlfriend AJ. As per champion, Big Show committed to a sin; in fact he is weighted 441bs and world’s largest athlete but AJ is 95lbs; just like Monday night Raw SuperShow, he once again said what Big Show did to his girlfriend was not an accident but intentionally did it; even Big Show did not said sorry for what he did to AJ; tears of Big Show is not sorrow tears but crocodile tears; the world’s largest is bigger but his career as world’s champion is shortest, nearly 45 seconds; after defeating him by cashing his Money In The Bank contract and he never live down.

Daniel Bryan stated Big Show is a selfish freak, revealed his girlfriend’s condition and also revealed his girlfriend’s career is nearly over. It was happened to her girlfriend for assisting him at outside of the ring. She actually did it for loving him. He never saw such love and sincerely loved her too which is why he decided his match to her and also decided to dedicate his tonight to her. Even though AJ is not here to inspire him but he considers AJ is in his heart.

He said he is not intimidated by either Big Show or Mark Henry. Strangely, WWE Universe started insulted him. He said; Big Show is not here and he is lucky because he is not responsible for what he did to Big Show if the world’s largest athlete comes to this edition. He suggested to Big Show to do right thing in his entire life for at least one time. He blamed him making his innocent girlfriend as new victim. The only way to do right thing is quitting from pro wrestling.

World Wrestling Entertainment showed the enjoyment of Smackdown superstars Alicia Fox, Santino Marella, Hornswoggle and Ezekiel Jackson. The other side, Theodore Long said to Aksana, he doesn’t want to discourage her tonight and Aksana felt very happy. He showed Roulette wheel to her and explained how it works. Aksana interested to have a pillow fight match with Teddy Long. The Smackdown General Manager was so happy to have it. In few moments WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes came there.

Cody Rhodes selects Hornswoggle as his opponent

Rhodes reminded his brother Goldust Las Vegas showgirls’ match but knew he would be last hope for Rhodes family. Theodore Long would like to know whether Cody Rhodes wants to talk or spin the roulette. WWE Intercontinental Champion spun roulette and the Smackdown Roulette stopped at “Players Choice” option. Because of it, Cody Rhodes can set his own match including selection of his opponent. Cody Rhodes showed Hornswoggle as his opponent. WWE Universe felt very happy but Hornswoggle was put his head shockingly.

Lilian Garcia announced a player’s choice match, introduced WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes and showed his title to Smackdown wrestling fans. In few moments, Hornswoggle came out to face Cody Rhodes. He received amazing ovation but afraid to face Rhodes. Intercontinental Champion left that ring, pushed him powerfully and Hornswoggle was fallen from his feet. The Dashing one kicked on head and disrespected him by kicking him.

• Hornswoggle Vs Cody Rhodes in Player’s Choice match

Cody Rhodes accepted his challenge

Surprisingly, Justin Gabriel came out, saved Hornswoggle from him by attacking Rhodes, they both punched each other but Gabriel kicked at midsection, pushed him into ring and took a microphone and emboldens him to select a superstar similar to his own size and later asked him; why can’t Rhodes select him as his opponent! He wants to know whether Cody Rhodes wants to participate in a showgirls match. Intercontinental Champion decided to face Justin Gabriel in a nontitle match.

• Cody Rhodes Vs Justin Gabriel in Player’s Choice match

The Dashing one kicked at midsection, punched to face, knife edge chop to chest but Gabriel comes back into with several elbows to face as well as kicking him at abs area repeatedly, then forearm smash on spinal area, escaped from him but dropkicked champion quickly but Cody Rhodes holds the bottom rope to waste time. The Capetown Werewolf reversed him with an arm drag, received an uppercut and then dropkick from Intercontinental champion. WWE Intercontinental Champion performed a front body slam, applied chin lock but Hornswoggle emboldened WWE Universe to support him. However, the last hope of Rhodes family gave a headbutt, dropped kick on chest, punched to face and applied crossface after locking the left hand with his leg.

Justin Gabriel delivered an elbow, then punch, controlled him with discus elbow smash, spinning kick to face, decided to end this match with 450° splash but Rhodes quickly left that place. Justin Gabriel punched him a corner, tried to pin him twice but Cody Rhodes kicked at abdominal area. Capetown Werewolf connected big boot at a corner, performing Slingshot somersault senton but the Dashing one dropped him on top rope. WWE Intercontinental Champion performed cross Rhodes and pinned him successfully.

Hornswoggle was discouraged little bit. Lilian Garcia promulgated WWE Intercontinental Champion is winner of this match and Intercontinental Dashing one Rhodes collected his title from match referee and continued celebrating before WWE Universe who booed him for his victory. He smiled at Hornswoggle, showed his title to him and then returned to backstage happily.

Mark Henry gets Lumberjack World Heavyweight Championship match

WWE showed the world’s strongest man Mark Henry and Theodore Long before of Smackdown roulette. Teddy Long advised him to spin the roulette to know his match style for world title. Mark Henry could not believe Teddy Long does it with worst concept in Sin City. The world’s strongest man blamed Theodore Long for AJ’s condition. Similarly, he decided to do it to Daniel Bryan. The Smackdown General Manager said him to spin the Roulette but Mark did not want to do it and ordered him to do it for him. GM spins the Roulette and it was stopped at Lumberjack match. Mark Henry decided to inductee all in pain.

WWE tag team Champions Epico and Primo with Rosa Mendes attended to this Friday night special edition. Lilian Garcia announced a tag team tornado match. In few moments, Jimmy and Jey Uso also attended to this event.

Match: 2

• Primo & Epico Vs Jimmy & Jey Uso in tag team tornado match

Jey and Jimmy Uso started this tornado tag team match with Epico and Primo respectively. Four superstars exchanged punches. Jimmy kicked at midsection of Primo at a corner but Usos surprised Epico with a double reverse elbow to face and also dropped double elbow on chest. Jimmy damaged back of Primo with a backbreaker and Jey dropped high flying leg drop on chest. Jimmy punches Epico at corner but Primo tossed Jey to outside of the ring and Jey Uso’s knee got injured. Jimmy fights with both WWE tag team champions but WWE tag team champions attacked him from behind. They even kicks him repeatedly. Rosa Mendes emboldened her men to handle opponent team members.

WWE tag team champions performed double knee jawbreaker, double belly to belly suple x and also kicked him repeatedly. However, Jimmy slapped Primo, throws Primo towards Jey and Jey Uso surprised him with a clothesline. Jey delivered a superkick to epico. Later Usos powerfully pushed them towards two opposite corners and The Uss performed body avalanche at a time but opposite corners. Usos injured both superstars at opposite corners with butt bumps. Primo and Jimmy went to outside of the ring where Primo damaged back of Jimmy with side of the ring but in ring Jey performed a diving splash. However, Primo interrupted the pin, attacked Jey Uso with backstabber and pinned to win this tornado match.

Rosa Mendes felt very happy and entered into ring. Lilian Garcia promulgated WWE tag team champions Epico and Primo are winners of this match. They collected title belts from match referee and continued their celebration with Rosa Mendes.

Aksana says I love Las Vegas because of so much fun. The General Manager also loved it. She lured him and even GM tempted for her words.

Sheamus gets Tables match against Wade Barrett

In few moments, the great white Sheamus came there. He changed situation, said it is time to find out what kind of match Sheamus is going to have against Wade Barrett. Aksana spins the Roulette wheel and Sheamus got Tables match. Theodore Long said Sheamus will be with Wade Barrett in a tables match. The Celtic Warrior said to Teddy Long, what happens in Vegas, stays in Las Vegas and left that place.

Theodore Long felt very happy, hoped Aksana understood it and Aksana also understood it well.

Lilian Garcia announced a Dance off show.

Brodus Clay Vs Vickie Guerrero in Dance off

Brodus Clay’s dancers came and three of them performed a dance show on stage as well as in ring. Vickie Guerrero interrupted them by saying excuse me, excuse me but people booed her. The Cougar herself introduced as opponent of Brodus Clay for Dance off show. She would like to show how she is going shake with her dance and requested WWE technical department to switch on her music. She performed dance which people don’t like it. Her dances seem to be robot dance. In few moments, Brodus Clay and his dances surprised her with extraordinary professional dance performance. He shake entire wrestling world with his dance. Of course Vickie did not like it. Lilian Garcia would like to know people’s opinion to judge their dance performance. WWE Universe booed to Vickie Guerrero but gave ovation to Brodus Clay and Lilian Garcia promulgated Brodus Clay is winner of this contest. However, Vickie Guerrero argued with Brodus Clay, again performed dance but WWE Universe did not like it.

Brodus Clay attacks William Regal

In few moments The British Brawler William Regal came out, stands for Vickie Guerrero as an English gentleman, requested people not to laugh at Vickie. He asked people who dare Clay to disrespect her. Guerrero takes his handkerchief, cleaned her face as well as her nose and Regal sent her to outside but The Funkasaurus insulted him. William Regal decided to teach a lesson to him by showing his dancing skills. He performed dance which people like it but Brodus Clay surprised him with a running splash to put an end to this dance off show. Brodus said somebody please his mother. Brodus Clay performed dance with his dancers to entertain wrestling fans.

Lilian Garcia announced a tables match, introduced Wade Barrett and then the great white Sheamus also came out to participate in tables match.

• Sheamus Vs Wade Barrett in tables match

Wade Barrett attacked Sheamus with a clothesline, set a table near to a corner, lifted him to slam on table but the great white attacked him with short arm clotheslines, performed front powerslam, lied Barrett on table, goes to top rope but attacked by Wade with a punch. They both exchanged hard punches but The Jackal dominated him and decided to perform superplex. Celtic Warrior did not give chance to him with a punch to kidney, then headbutt but jumped over table onto floor to save this match and The Pinnacle removed the table from that place. However, Sheamus performed Irish curse, set the table at a corner, kicked at midsection, tried to perform Celtic cross but Jinder Mahal came out to interrupt this match but received a punch. Barrett utilized it, threw him on a table and won this match.

Lilian Garcia promulgated Wade Barrett is winner of this match. Wade Barrett felt very happy and celebrated his victory but match referee checked condition of Sheamus at a corner.

Jinder Mahal brought another table, set at opposite corner, and lifted him to slam on table but Sheamus escaped from his shoulder and delivered a brogue kick to face directly. Sheamus lifted him and performed a spear into that table. This time match referee checked condition of Jinder Mahal.

Ted DiBiase attended to this Friday night special edition, hugged his fan at outside of the ring and in few moments Hunico came out with his bodyguard Camacho in a bicycle. WWE showed the Roulette which was spun by General manager. GM announced a flag match between them and explained rule of this match i.e whoever reaches the corner and collects the flag will become winner of this match. In few moments, WWE officials came and set Mexican and American flag at opposite corners.

WWE played pre-recorded interview clip on movie. Ted DiBiase said Hunico and Camacho did not get invited to lot of parties because they did not a get a personal invitation. His party The DiBiase Posse is open for everyone. After beating Hunico, he would like to give them a small party.

Match: 4

• Ted DiBiase Vs Hunico in flag match

Hunico quickly attacked Ted DiBiase with a forearm smash and several punches to face but Ted DiBiase transferred his headscissors takedown into a front powerslam. DiBiase tried to collected American flag but Hunico slammed him from middle rope. This time Hunico tried to collect Mexican flag but DiBiase lifted him to his both shoulders and slammed him. Later, Hunico transferred momentum of DiBiase into a back body drop. However, Ted quickly reached that corner and pushed Hunico from top rope and Hunico was fallen onto Camacho. The Leader of the DiBiase Posse reached the corner with injured knee but Hunico tried to pull down. However, Ted DiBiase kicked him, then snake eyes, performed Dream Street and successfully collected American flag to win this match.

WWE felt very happy and cheered him. Ted DiBiase celebrated his victory with American flag before WWE Universe after Lilian Garcia promulgated him as winner of this match.

Drew McIntyre got one last chance as per Santino’s request

WWE showed Drew McIntyre and Theodore Long before Roulette. Theodore Long doesn’t want to talk to him, reminded Drew is very close getting fire three weeks ago and even fired him last week. The Chosen one was discouraged but in few moments the assistant to Smackdown General manager Santino Marella came out, emboldened to reconsider Drew McIntyre but Theodore Long couldn’t understood what he is saying. Santino said two weeks ago I beat Drew McIntyre but some people said it was luck. Santino Marella would like to tell it was not luck by proving, even interested to give snake eyes also wants to give him craps.

Drew McIntyre appreciated him for his good sense. GM understood his assistant, decided to give him one more chance to Drew McIntyre and encouraged McIntyre to spin the wheel. They got Blindfold match. Drew thanked to GM and said I see at ring Santino. Marella laughed because in blindfold match no one can see his opponent. However, Santino got permission to get ready for his match but Theodore Long showed the right way to him.

World Wrestling Entertainment showed the preparation of Mark Henry at backstage.

The Chosen one Drew McIntyre came out to participate in Blindfold match. Smackdown ring announcer announced a blindfold match, introduced him and also introduced Santino Marella. Santino Marella walked around the ring and entered into with fans support. Match referee covered head of Drew McIntyre with a cloth and also decided to cover Santino’s head but Marella simply covered his cobra with that cover and then Marella’s head got covered with that cover.

• Santino Marella Vs Drew McIntyre in Blindfold match

Santino Marella performed mixed martial arts performance in ring to injure Drew McIntyre but McIntyre was at a corner. They both tried to attack each other but they couldn’t. Marella takes WWE Universe’s help, delivered cover on top rope when Drew McIntyre moved from that place. Drew McIntyre heard his voice and delivered a shoulder block and they both were fallen to outside of the ring where Drew punched steel ring post and they entered into ring but Drew McIntyre saw Marella by slightly removing the cover from his head, accidentally performed leg drop on top of the ring which several injured lower part of Drew McIntyre and fallen to outside of the ring. The Chosen one entered into ring but Santino Marella identified Drew with people’s help and delivered cobra and pinned him.

Santino Marella felt very happy, thanked to WWE Universe as well as match referee but Drew McIntyre kicked steel steps and returned to backstage frustratingly.

Similarly, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan also attended to this Friday night with wrestling fans mixed response. Lilian Garcia introduced Mark Henry and also introduced WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan.

• Daniel Bryan Vs Mark Henry in Lumberjack World Heavyweight Championship match

Mark Henry threw his t shirt on Bryan. The American Dragon escapes from his challenger, tried to connect a roundhouse kick but Henry pushed him powerfully. However, Daniel holds the bottom rope to avoid falling down from ring. Daniel Bryan delivered a roundhouse kick to leg, also knife edge chop to chest but received a headbutt. Bryan left that ring but pushed Tyler Reks and said them don’t touch me and reminded he is the world heavyweight champion. Mark Henry attacked him with a forearm smash, shoulderblock to midsection, headbutt, stand on chest for some time, punched t stomach, forearm smash on spinal area but Bryan tried to come back with punch game but received a headbutt.

The Hall of Pain Inductor delivered a forearm smash on chest but Bryan delivered a shoulder block. However, he was rolled to outside because of the impact. Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett from outside pushed him into ring. Bryan asked Barrett why you are doing! But Barrett said it is my job. The King of the Jungle tossed Bryan but the dagger attacked his knee. He further attacked his knee, knife edge chop to chest, roundhouse kick to knee, elbow to face, another roundhouse kick to knee but Henry pushed him powerfully. However, the best pro wrestler in the world attacked him with a flying forearm smash, delivered repeated roundhouse kicks as well as punches to face but once again Mark Henry pushed him powerfully.

However, D-Bryan performed a running dropkick to face, roundhouse kick to head but Henry powerfully tossed him and Bryan rolled to outside where he looked lumberjacks WWE tag team Champions Epico & Primo, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks but they ordered him to enter into ring. Daniel Bryan entered into ring due to lack of alternative way but attacked by his competitor with a clothesline. Mark Henry tossed Bryan twice but received a big boot but surprised him with a very powerful clothesline to oncoming Daniel. He dropped WWE World Heavyweight Champion on Jey & Jimmy Uso, Tyson Kidd and Ted DiBiase.

Daniel Bryan attacked Ted DiBiase, also attack lumberjacks but lumberjacks mostly Wade Barrett tried to control him. Henry tossed Bryan into ring but received a drop kick and fallen to outside. Lumberjacks tried to pull him into ring but Bryan kicks lumberjacks who tried to push Mark Henry into ring. Lumberjacks Cody, Ted DiBiase, Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson seriously considered and attacked Daniel Bryan in ring. Similarly, Mark Henry pushed Lumberjack powerfully at outside of the ring, entered into ring and also attacked lumberjacks who kicks champion in ring. Bryan caught to Henry but Cody kicked at abdominal area of Henry. All Lumberjacks attacked Mark Henry and even lumberjacks also attacked each other to show the preview of Royal Rumble main event.

Daniel Bryan collected his WWE World Heavyweight Championship title and returned to backstage. Similarly, Mark Henry left that ring. At backstage, the Smackdown General manager met WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and questioned him what he is doing! Daniel Bryan question GM that what lumberjacks are doing in their match. He actually quits from this match for lumberjacks’ involvement. GM announced a triple threat steel cage match between Big Show, Mark Henry and Big Show for WWE World Heavyweight Championship title at Royal Rumble 2012 pay per view.
