Sting, Anderson, RVD for TNA World Title at TNA Lockdown 2011
The legendary Sting defeated Jeff Hardy to become new TNA World Heavyweight Champion at Victory Road on March 13, 2011. On same night, Rob Van Dam and Mr. Anderson participated in #1 contender match but both were disqualified. At March 17, 2011 Impact event, AJ Styles, Bully Ray, Anderson and Rob Van Dam participated in four way #1 contender’s match but that match was ended due to double disqualification of Anderson and RVD. However, TNA conducted another #1 contender’s match between Anderson and RVD and Rob Van Dam became new #1 contender by disqualification as per special ring enforcer and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting’s decision in March 24, 2011 TNA Impact zone.
But Rob Van Dam does not want to be #1 contender like that and gave opportunity to Anderson to compete at Lockdown 2011 in triple threat match at March 31, 2011 Impact. Three of them teamed up in a six man tag team match but lost match on same night because of their egos. At April 7, 2011 TNA Impact; RVD pinned Sting in front of special guest referee Mr. Anderson.
Sting retained TNA World Heavyweight Champion by pinning Mr. Anderson after delivering scorpion deadlock.
