At March 3, 2011 TNA Impact event, the legendary professional wrestler and the icon Sting made his surprising return to TNA Wrestling and defeated Jeff Hardy to become new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. However, Jeff Hardy claimed a rematch and even Mr. Anderson and Rob Van Dam also claimed a title shot against new champion in March 10, 2011 Thursday night wrestling event but Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff granted a TNA World Heavyweight Championship title shot to Jeff Hardy and also arranged a tag team main event. On same night sting was seriously attacked by Anderson at backstage. Sting surprised Anderson and Jeff Hardy by appearing at the end of that match to support to his tag team partner RVD and successfully defeated Jeff Hardy and Anderson in that match.

Finally, Jeff Hardy faces Sting in a TNA World Heavyweight Championship match at Victory Road 2011.

Jeff Hardy wasted lot of time in giving his cloth to TNA Wrestling fans but did not give to anyone and irritated TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting. Sting kicked Jeff Hardy into stomach, shot on neck, punches on face, scorpion death drop and then pinned Jeff Hardy to retain his TNA World Heavyweight title and celebrated his victory with wrestling fans but Jeff Hardy was in shock.
