At July 25, 2011 Monday night Raw event, WWE announced to conduct 13 diva #1 contender’s diva battle royal at August 1, 2011 Raw live event to determine the new #1 contender of WWE divas championship title. Winner of this match faces WWE divas champion Kelly Kelly at SummerSlam pay per view.

Beth Phoenix utilized this opportunity, won raw divas battle royal and became new #1 contender of WWE Divas championship title and reserved a championship match against Kelly Kelly at SummerSlam 2011 pay per view.
WWE Divas Champion delivered some elbow shots to Beth’s face, also delivered some kicks to abdominal area at one corner but Phoenix powerfully pushed champion to control her. However, Kelly Kelly once again delivered some elbows to face, Hurricanrana to send her to outside, applied hanging figure four necklock, attacked Beth from behind and Phoenix was fallen down to outside of the ring. She quickly goes to second rope, delivered a high flying cross body, gave a warning to Natalya to stay away to her and they both entered into ring but Beth Phoenix surprised divas champion with a clothesline.
Beth Phoenix lifted over to her head dropped her on top rope but Kelly Kelly did not want to lose this match. Phoenix threw champion towards one corner, rubs her face with his boot, delivered a shot to face with her buttocks, insulted Kelly Kelly, and reversed her to submit pin fall but Divas champion did not surrender to her challenger. Beth later pulled her neck backwards, received some punches to abs and an elbow to face but delivered a kick to abdominal area. She later lifted champion to his right shoulder, shakes her by using Canadian backbreaker but divas champion delivered some elbows to face and then surprised her with neck breaker.
Kelly Kelly delivered elbow to kidney area, face but The Glamazon lifted her, hanged Kelly Kelly downwards by twisting legs to one corner. Later, she pushed her neck towards same corner, kicked on abs and later refused champion’s pin fall submission. Kelly Kelly delivered several elbows to face but received a sidebar slam. Phoenix delivered a powerful knee kick to face but his neck was damaged by same opponent with top rope. Divas champion hits her face to ground several times frustratingly, also kicked to kidney area, tried Kelly killer but Phoenix blocked her move, lifted her to deliver Glam Slam but Kelly Kelly surprised Beth Phoenix by transferring it as pin fall. Kelly Kelly successfully pinned Beth to retain her Divas Championship and celebrated her victory with wrestling fans including Eve. However, Beth and Natalya were in shock.
