At The Bash 2009 on June 28, 2009 ECW original Tommy Dreamer participated in a Championship Scramble match for ECW Championship. Tommy Dreamer defeated Christian and became current ECW Champion. Tommy Dreamer did not give chance to his competitors Jack Swagger, Chirstian, Finlay and Mark Henry. Tommy Dreamer successfully retained his ECW Championship in this wrestling pay per view.

• July 26, 2009 Night of Champions 2009 – Christian Vs Tommy Dreamer for ECW Championship

ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer faced Christian in a one on one wrestling match for ECW Championship at Night of Championship 2009. Tommy Dreamer and Christian started this wrestling very friendly but performed real toughest wrestling performance. Christian defeated Tommy Dreamer and became new ECW Championship. However, Tommy Dreamer appreciated him and congratulated new ECW Champion Christian in front of wrestling fans respectfully.

On September 8, 2009 in ECW edition, Tommy Dreamer teamed up wtih ECW Champion Christian to face Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov in a tag team match. However, Tommy Dreamer lost this match to Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov even though they performed intelligent wrestling game. After this match, William Regal injured Tommy Dreamer with Regal stretch.

Tommy Dreamer teamed up with Goldust to face Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov in a tag team match but lost to challengers on October 6, 2009 ECW edition.
