WWE Smackdown – December 18, 2009
World Wrestling Entertainment conducted Friday night Smackdown edition at Laredo, Texas on December 18, 2009 to entertain wrestling fans. Matt Striker and Todd Grisham were official commentators for this weekly wrestling edition. This is first Smackdown edition after brand new wrestling pay per view TLC 2009.
WWE Smackdown brand’s official ring announcer Tony Chimel introduced WWE Smackdown general manager Theodore Long. Theodore Long talked about first ever Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay per view. He said that the undertaker successfully retained his wwe world heavyweight championship against animal batista. Due to animal’s unsuccessful, he would like to make another #1 contender for Undertaker. Suddenly, the animal Dave Batista interrupted his announcement by appearing in this Friday night edition without playing his music.
He said that no need to looking for #1 contender but the #1 contender is here. Batista remembered to Theodore Long that he changed entire situation against to him, which means Batista actually defeated the undertaker but due to his cheap tricks, theodore long restarted that match. The Undertaker successfully utilized to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Batista requested theodore long to give him another title shot because nobody is capable to face him. Suddenly, the high flying superstar Rey Mysterio music hits.
Rey Mysterio appeared on ramp to give challenge to Batista. Actually, Rey Mysterio responded by seriously considering his statement, which means batista said nobody is back there. Rey Mysterio said that the champion should not have 6 feet 9 and physically dominating wrestler. However, the champion should have a desire to achieve something. He insulted him and wrestling fans also supported him. As per his statement, batista always considered me as a little guy and showed sympathy. He openly announced that you never even touch world heavyweight championship title belt again.
The Smackdown general manager Theodore Long finally announced #1 contender’s match between Dave Batista and Rey Mysterio. As per his order, batista should not use cheap tricks and should not disqualify. Winner of this match is not only a #1 contender and also received an opportunity to face The Undertaker as Christmas gift in next week Smackdown.

After this match, the official consultant of Smackdown Vickie Guerrero entered into wrestling ring and mocked her former boy friend Eric Escobar with bigger laugh. Eric Escobar stood on his feet by controlling his back pain and took microphone from Vickie Guerrero. Eric Escobar understood the power of her but insulted her. Vickie Guerrero wanted to say something but Eric Escobar did not give microphone to Vickie Guerrero.

World Wrestling Entertainment showed Beth Phoenix at backstage and she walks at backstage to attend to her match. Suddenly, WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla stopped her to tell something. Michelle McCool and Layla asked her, did we create any problems when you come to Smackdown?
Beth Phoenix gave answer positively. However, they talked about Piggie James. Actually, they played with 2009 Diva of the year Maria previously but now they are concentrated on Mickie James. They tried to mock her but Beth Phoenix gave good reply to her by giving a warning to them. They could not understand her problem but Michelle McCool considered her sensitive.
